Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Spend the day resting, preparing your gear, and attending a pre-trek briefing.

Day 2: Lendorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa

After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration and then to the trailhead. Trek through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.

- Distance: 4.3 miles / 7 km

- Hiking Time: 3-4 hours

Day 3: Moorland Zone to Shira 1 Camp

Continue trekking through the forest and into the moorland zone to Shira 1 Camp, enjoying views of the Shira Plateau.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Kibo Camp

Trek across the Shira Plateau, with stunning views of the Western Breach and the volcanic cones of Kibo and Mawenzi.

Day 5: Kibo Camp to Lava Tower

Ascend to Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp, passing through the scenic Barranco Valley.

Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Begin the summit attempt around midnight, reaching the summit at sunrise. After celebrating at Uhuru Peak, descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.
